A Commitment to Financial Clarity
Coinwise was founded on the straightforward conviction that working Malaysians deserve honest, clear education about the money systems that shape their lives.

Coinwise opened its doors in 2011 as a small seminar room in Kuala Lumpur's Dang Wangi district. The founding team — a group of finance practitioners and adult educators — had noticed something that concerned them: most employed Malaysians reached retirement age without ever having understood what their EPF statements actually contained.
What started as a weekend workshop for a cohort of 12 government servants grew steadily, guided by word of mouth and a reputation for presenting money topics in plain, accessible language. By 2016, Coinwise had served over 1,000 participants and expanded into ethical investing and household financial planning.
Today, Coinwise delivers structured, multi-week programmes to salaried Malaysians across the Klang Valley and online. We've never lost sight of our original purpose: helping people understand the financial systems they're already part of, without pressure or jargon.
Our Mission
To make structured, honest financial education accessible to every employed Malaysian — so that people can engage confidently with their savings, benefits, and financial obligations, regardless of their prior background.
Our Approach
We teach frameworks, not prescriptions. Our role is to ensure participants leave each programme with a clear picture of their financial position and the vocabulary to ask the right questions — of their HR department, their bank, or a licensed financial planner.
Who We Serve
Coinwise serves employed Malaysians — professionals, civil servants, and workers across industries — who want to understand their EPF, explore ethical investment options, or build resilience against financial disruption. No prior financial knowledge is required.

Our Standards & Protocols
Content Accuracy Review
All programme content is reviewed annually against current EPF, SOCSO, and BNM regulatory updates to ensure participants receive accurate, current information.
Participant Data Protection
Personal data collected during enrolment is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). We do not share data with third parties for commercial purposes.
No Conflicts of Interest
Coinwise does not accept referral fees from financial product providers. Our educators have no commission-based incentive — ensuring the information you receive is entirely impartial.
Educator Qualifications
All Coinwise facilitators hold relevant professional qualifications in finance, education, or related fields and participate in ongoing professional development to maintain relevance and quality.
Participant Feedback Loop
Every programme cohort completes a structured evaluation. Feedback scores and comments are reviewed quarterly to inform programme improvements and facilitator development.
Accessibility Commitment
Programmes are designed in plain English with supplementary materials available in Bahasa Malaysia. We work to ensure that language or educational background does not prevent participation.
Financial Education Rooted in Malaysian Reality
Coinwise operates at the intersection of financial literacy and adult education — a space that is often underserved in Malaysia. Most financial content available to working adults arrives through product marketing, not education. Coinwise was created specifically to fill that gap.
Our programmes are built around the statutory and regulatory frameworks that employed Malaysians actually interact with — the Employees Provident Fund Act, SOCSO coverage categories, and the practical mechanics of managing household finances through periods of uncertainty. We draw on years of direct feedback from participants across a wide range of industries, income brackets, and life stages.
We are based in Kuala Lumpur and serve participants across the Klang Valley, Selangor, Putrajaya, and Cyberjaya, with online cohorts available nationally. Our team combines backgrounds in financial services compliance, certified financial planning, social policy research, and adult education methodology.
Coinwise does not hold a Capital Markets Services Licence and does not provide licensed financial advice. We are an education provider. We consistently encourage participants to engage with licensed financial planners when personal financial decisions are involved.
